What is a Steady VPS?
A virtual server with its own CPU, RAM and NVMe — not shared hosting.
The product
A VPS is a virtual private server: dedicated CPU, memory and NVMe storage on a hypervisor, with full SSH access. It is not a shared hosting account. You install what you need, within the published plan.
You get a public IPv4 address. IPv6 is included where that location actually provides it. Root is available on the Linux images we offer.
What it is for
Websites and shops (Laravel, WordPress, WooCommerce and similar). Development, staging and CI. Your own apps, databases and workers. Game servers and anything that needs more control than shared hosting. Agencies hosting several client projects from one Steady account.
What it is not
It is not a dedicated physical server. CPU and RAM are virtual. Daily backups are not included unless the server’s backup capability is on and you enable them. Snapshots are not a substitute for your own backup process.
VPS, managed VPS or dedicated
Self-service VPS: you configure, pay and get SSH. Managed VPS: same published plans and locations, we create and operate the server ourselves — not at checkout. Dedicated: a physical machine, provisioned to order, no resize in the portal.
