Domains
Auth code and transfer lock
Lock to stop unexpected transfers. Auth code when you want to leave.
Transfer lock
When lock is on, another registrar should not be able to pull the domain. Turn lock off shortly before you transfer out, then turn it on again at the new registrar. The portal switch is disabled if lock control is not available for that domain.
Auth code
The auth / EPP code is what the gaining registrar needs. Request it from the domain page when transferCode is enabled. Treat it like a password; it is shown in the portal for that request, not sent as a standing email.
Transfer out
Unlock, fetch the code, start the transfer at the new registrar, and approve any owner-email confirmation the registry sends. Steady cannot complete a transfer-out at the other registrar for you.
